Before sleeping
The last words the Prophet ﷺ said before sleeping.
بِاسْمِكَ اللَّهُمَّ أَمُوتُ وَأَحْيَا
Bismika Allāhumma amūtu wa aḥyā
In Your name, O Allah, I die and I live.
On waking
Gratitude for being returned to life after sleep.
الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي أَحْيَانَا بَعْدَ مَا أَمَاتَنَا وَإِلَيْهِ النُّشُورُ
Al-ḥamdu lillāhi alladhī aḥyānā baʿda mā amātanā wa ilayhi an-nushūr
All praise is for Allah, who gave us life after He caused us to die, and to Him is the resurrection.
