Why it is read
Recited with Al-Falaq and Al-Ikhlas for protection, especially in the morning and evening remembrances and before sleep. It is the closing note of the Quran — a request for shelter.
Ayah 1
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ ٱلنَّاسِ
Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “I seek refuge in the Lord of humankind

مَلِكِ ٱلنَّاسِ
the Master of humankind

إِلَٰهِ ٱلنَّاسِ
the God of humankind

مِن شَرِّ ٱلْوَسْوَاسِ ٱلْخَنَّاسِ
from the evil of the lurking whisperer—

who whispers into the hearts of humankind—
