Quran verses for protection and refuge

The Quran teaches believers to actively seek refuge in Allah from harm seen and unseen. Before reciting the Quran itself, the believer says 'I seek refuge in Allah from the outcast Shaytan.' The last two surahs of the Quran are themselves a seeking of refuge. Read these verses for the foundation of morning and evening protection.

  1. Seek refuge in Allah from the outcast Shaytan

    Protection

    فَإِذَا قَرَأۡتَ ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ فَٱسۡتَعِذۡ بِٱللَّهِ مِنَ ٱلشَّیۡطَـٰنِ ٱلرَّجِیمِ

    When you recite the Quran, seek refuge with Allah from Satan, the accursed

  2. My Lord, I seek refuge in You from the devils' prompts

    Protection

    وَقُل رَّبِّ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنۡ هَمَزَ ٰ⁠تِ ٱلشَّیَـٰطِینِ

    And say, "My Lord, I seek refuge in You from the incitements of the devils,

    My Lord, I seek refuge in You from the devils' prompts.

  3. I seek refuge in the Lord of the daybreak

    Protection

    بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ ٱلْفَلَقِ

    Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “I seek refuge in the Lord of the daybreak

    I seek refuge in the Lord of the daybreak.

  4. I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind

    Protection

    بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِیمِ قُلۡ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ ٱلنَّاسِ

    Say, "I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind,

    I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind.
