Why it is read
Al-Ikhlas is recited in prayer, in the morning and evening remembrances, and three times before sleep alongside Al-Falaq and An-Nas. It is the first chapter many children memorise after Al-Fatiha.
Ayah 1
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ قُلْ هُوَ ٱللَّهُ أَحَدٌ
Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “He is Allah—One ˹and Indivisible˺

Allah—the Sustainer ˹needed by all˺

لَمْ يَلِدْ وَلَمْ يُولَدْ
He has never had offspring, nor was He born
