Surah Al-Mu'minun (المؤمنون) — The Believers

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ قَدْ أَفْلَحَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ
Successful indeed are the believers
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 2
ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ فِى صَلَاتِهِمْ خَٰشِعُونَ
those who humble themselves in prayer
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 3
وَٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ عَنِ ٱللَّغْوِ مُعْرِضُونَ
those who avoid idle talk
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 4
وَٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ لِلزَّكَوٰةِ فَٰعِلُونَ
those who pay alms-tax
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 5
وَٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ لِفُرُوجِهِمْ حَٰفِظُونَ
those who guard their chastity
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 6
إِلَّا عَلَىٰٓ أَزْوَٰجِهِمْ أَوْ مَا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَٰنُهُمْ فَإِنَّهُمْ غَيْرُ مَلُومِينَ
except with their wives or those ˹bondwomen˺ in their possession, for then they are free from blame
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 7
فَمَنِ ٱبْتَغَىٰ وَرَآءَ ذَٰلِكَ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْعَادُونَ
but whoever seeks beyond that are the transgressors
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 8
وَٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ لِأَمَٰنَٰتِهِمْ وَعَهْدِهِمْ رَٰعُونَ
˹the believers are also˺ those who are true to their trusts and covenants
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 9
وَٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ عَلَىٰ صَلَوَٰتِهِمْ يُحَافِظُونَ
and those who are ˹properly˺ observant of their prayers
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 10
أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْوَٰرِثُونَ
These are the ones who will be awarded
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 11
ٱلَّذِينَ يَرِثُونَ ٱلْفِرْدَوْسَ هُمْ فِيهَا خَٰلِدُونَ
Paradise as their own. They will be there forever
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 12
وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ مِن سُلَٰلَةٍ مِّن طِينٍ
And indeed, We created humankind from an extract of clay

ثُمَّ جَعَلْنَٰهُ نُطْفَةً فِى قَرَارٍ مَّكِينٍ
then placed each ˹human˺ as a sperm-drop in a secure place
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 14
ثُمَّ خَلَقْنَا ٱلنُّطْفَةَ عَلَقَةً فَخَلَقْنَا ٱلْعَلَقَةَ مُضْغَةً فَخَلَقْنَا ٱلْمُضْغَةَ عِظَٰمًا فَكَسَوْنَا ٱلْعِظَٰمَ لَحْمًا ثُمَّ أَنشَأْنَٰهُ خَلْقًا ءَاخَرَ ۚ فَتَبَارَكَ ٱللَّهُ أَحْسَنُ ٱلْخَٰلِقِينَ
then We developed the drop into a clinging clot ˹of blood˺, then developed the clot into a lump ˹of flesh˺, then developed the lump into bones, then clothed the bones with flesh, then We brought it into being as a new creation. So Blessed is Allah, the Best of Creators

ثُمَّ إِنَّكُم بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ لَمَيِّتُونَ
After that you will surely die
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 16
ثُمَّ إِنَّكُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ تُبْعَثُونَ
then on the Day of Judgment you will be resurrected
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 17
وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا فَوْقَكُمْ سَبْعَ طَرَآئِقَ وَمَا كُنَّا عَنِ ٱلْخَلْقِ غَٰفِلِينَ
And indeed, We created above you seven levels ˹of heaven˺. We are never unmindful of ˹Our˺ creation
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 18
وَأَنزَلْنَا مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءًۢ بِقَدَرٍ فَأَسْكَنَّٰهُ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ ۖ وَإِنَّا عَلَىٰ ذَهَابٍۭ بِهِۦ لَقَٰدِرُونَ
We send down rain from the sky in perfect measure, causing it to soak into the earth. And We are surely able to take it away
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 19
فَأَنشَأْنَا لَكُم بِهِۦ جَنَّٰتٍ مِّن نَّخِيلٍ وَأَعْنَٰبٍ لَّكُمْ فِيهَا فَوَٰكِهُ كَثِيرَةٌ وَمِنْهَا تَأْكُلُونَ
With it We produce for you gardens of palm trees and grapevines, in which there are abundant fruits, and from which you may eat
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 20
وَشَجَرَةً تَخْرُجُ مِن طُورِ سَيْنَآءَ تَنۢبُتُ بِٱلدُّهْنِ وَصِبْغٍ لِّلْـَٔاكِلِينَ
as well as ˹olive˺ trees which grow at Mount Sinai, providing oil and a condiment to eat
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 21
وَإِنَّ لَكُمْ فِى ٱلْأَنْعَٰمِ لَعِبْرَةً ۖ نُّسْقِيكُم مِّمَّا فِى بُطُونِهَا وَلَكُمْ فِيهَا مَنَٰفِعُ كَثِيرَةٌ وَمِنْهَا تَأْكُلُونَ
And there is certainly a lesson for you in cattle, from whose bellies We give you ˹milk˺ to drink, and in them are many other benefits for you, and from them you may eat
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 22
وَعَلَيْهَا وَعَلَى ٱلْفُلْكِ تُحْمَلُونَ
And you are carried upon ˹some of˺ them and upon ships
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 23
وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا نُوحًا إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِۦ فَقَالَ يَٰقَوْمِ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ مَا لَكُم مِّنْ إِلَٰهٍ غَيْرُهُۥٓ ۖ أَفَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
Indeed, We sent Noah to his people. He declared, “O my people! Worship Allah ˹alone˺. You have no god other than Him. Will you not then fear ˹Him˺?”

فَقَالَ ٱلْمَلَؤُا۟ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِن قَوْمِهِۦ مَا هَٰذَآ إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُكُمْ يُرِيدُ أَن يَتَفَضَّلَ عَلَيْكُمْ وَلَوْ شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ لَأَنزَلَ مَلَٰٓئِكَةً مَّا سَمِعْنَا بِهَٰذَا فِىٓ ءَابَآئِنَا ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
But the disbelieving chiefs of his people said ˹to the masses˺, “This is only a human like you, who wants to be superior to you. Had Allah willed, He could have easily sent down angels ˹instead˺. We have never heard of this in ˹the history of˺ our forefathers
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 25
إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا رَجُلٌۢ بِهِۦ جِنَّةٌ فَتَرَبَّصُوا۟ بِهِۦ حَتَّىٰ حِينٍ
He is simply insane, so bear with him for a while.”
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 26
قَالَ رَبِّ ٱنصُرْنِى بِمَا كَذَّبُونِ
Noah prayed, “My Lord! Help me, because they have denied ˹me˺.”
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 27
فَأَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَيْهِ أَنِ ٱصْنَعِ ٱلْفُلْكَ بِأَعْيُنِنَا وَوَحْيِنَا فَإِذَا جَآءَ أَمْرُنَا وَفَارَ ٱلتَّنُّورُ ۙ فَٱسْلُكْ فِيهَا مِن كُلٍّ زَوْجَيْنِ ٱثْنَيْنِ وَأَهْلَكَ إِلَّا مَن سَبَقَ عَلَيْهِ ٱلْقَوْلُ مِنْهُمْ ۖ وَلَا تُخَٰطِبْنِى فِى ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوٓا۟ ۖ إِنَّهُم مُّغْرَقُونَ
So We inspired him: “Build the Ark under Our ˹watchful˺ Eyes and directions. Then when Our command comes and the oven bursts ˹with water˺, take on board a pair from every species along with your family—except those against whom the decree ˹to drown˺ has already been passed. And do not plead with Me for those who have done wrong, for they will surely be drowned.”

فَإِذَا ٱسْتَوَيْتَ أَنتَ وَمَن مَّعَكَ عَلَى ٱلْفُلْكِ فَقُلِ ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِى نَجَّىٰنَا مِنَ ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
Then when you and those with you have settled in the Ark, say, “All praise is for Allah, Who saved us from the wrongdoing people.”
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 29
وَقُل رَّبِّ أَنزِلْنِى مُنزَلًا مُّبَارَكًا وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ ٱلْمُنزِلِينَ
And pray, “My Lord! Allow me a blessed landing, for You are the best accommodator.”
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 30
إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَٰتٍ وَإِن كُنَّا لَمُبْتَلِينَ
Surely in this are lessons. And We ˹always˺ put ˹people˺ to the test

ثُمَّ أَنشَأْنَا مِنۢ بَعْدِهِمْ قَرْنًا ءَاخَرِينَ
Then We raised another generation after them
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 32
فَأَرْسَلْنَا فِيهِمْ رَسُولًا مِّنْهُمْ أَنِ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ مَا لَكُم مِّنْ إِلَٰهٍ غَيْرُهُۥٓ ۖ أَفَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
and sent to them a messenger from among themselves, ˹declaring,˺ “Worship Allah ˹alone˺. You have no god other than Him. Will you not then fear ˹Him˺?”
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 33
وَقَالَ ٱلْمَلَأُ مِن قَوْمِهِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ وَكَذَّبُوا۟ بِلِقَآءِ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ وَأَتْرَفْنَٰهُمْ فِى ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا مَا هَٰذَآ إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُكُمْ يَأْكُلُ مِمَّا تَأْكُلُونَ مِنْهُ وَيَشْرَبُ مِمَّا تَشْرَبُونَ
But the chiefs of his people—who disbelieved, denied the meeting ˹with Allah˺ in the Hereafter, and were spoiled by the worldly luxuries We had provided for them—said ˹to the masses˺, “This is only a human like you. He eats what you eat, and drinks what you drink
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 34
وَلَئِنْ أَطَعْتُم بَشَرًا مِّثْلَكُمْ إِنَّكُمْ إِذًا لَّخَٰسِرُونَ
And if you ˹ever˺ obey a human like yourselves, then you would certainly be losers
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 35
أَيَعِدُكُمْ أَنَّكُمْ إِذَا مِتُّمْ وَكُنتُمْ تُرَابًا وَعِظَٰمًا أَنَّكُم مُّخْرَجُونَ
Does he promise you that once you are dead and reduced to dust and bones, you will be brought forth ˹alive˺
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 36
۞ هَيْهَاتَ هَيْهَاتَ لِمَا تُوعَدُونَ
Impossible, simply impossible is what you are promised
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 37
إِنْ هِىَ إِلَّا حَيَاتُنَا ٱلدُّنْيَا نَمُوتُ وَنَحْيَا وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمَبْعُوثِينَ
There is nothing beyond our worldly life. We die, others are born, and none will be resurrected
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 38
إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا رَجُلٌ ٱفْتَرَىٰ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ كَذِبًا وَمَا نَحْنُ لَهُۥ بِمُؤْمِنِينَ
He is no more than a man who has fabricated a lie about Allah, and we will never believe in him.”
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 39
قَالَ رَبِّ ٱنصُرْنِى بِمَا كَذَّبُونِ
The messenger prayed, “My Lord! Help me, because they have denied ˹me˺.”
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 40
قَالَ عَمَّا قَلِيلٍ لَّيُصْبِحُنَّ نَٰدِمِينَ
Allah responded, “Soon they will be truly regretful.”
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 41
فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ ٱلصَّيْحَةُ بِٱلْحَقِّ فَجَعَلْنَٰهُمْ غُثَآءً ۚ فَبُعْدًا لِّلْقَوْمِ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
Then the ˹mighty˺ blast overtook them with justice, and We reduced them to rubble. So away with the wrongdoing people
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 42
ثُمَّ أَنشَأْنَا مِنۢ بَعْدِهِمْ قُرُونًا ءَاخَرِينَ
Then We raised other generations after them
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 43
مَا تَسْبِقُ مِنْ أُمَّةٍ أَجَلَهَا وَمَا يَسْتَـْٔخِرُونَ
No people can advance their doom, nor can they delay it
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 44
ثُمَّ أَرْسَلْنَا رُسُلَنَا تَتْرَا ۖ كُلَّ مَا جَآءَ أُمَّةً رَّسُولُهَا كَذَّبُوهُ ۚ فَأَتْبَعْنَا بَعْضَهُم بَعْضًا وَجَعَلْنَٰهُمْ أَحَادِيثَ ۚ فَبُعْدًا لِّقَوْمٍ لَّا يُؤْمِنُونَ
Then We sent Our messengers in succession: whenever a messenger came to his people, they denied him. So We destroyed them, one after the other, reducing them to ˹cautionary˺ tales. So away with the people who refuse to believe
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 45
ثُمَّ أَرْسَلْنَا مُوسَىٰ وَأَخَاهُ هَٰرُونَ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا وَسُلْطَٰنٍ مُّبِينٍ
Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron with Our signs and compelling proof
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 46
إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ وَمَلَإِي۟هِۦ فَٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟ وَكَانُوا۟ قَوْمًا عَالِينَ
to Pharaoh and his chiefs, but they behaved arrogantly and were a tyrannical people
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 47
فَقَالُوٓا۟ أَنُؤْمِنُ لِبَشَرَيْنِ مِثْلِنَا وَقَوْمُهُمَا لَنَا عَٰبِدُونَ
They argued, “Will we believe in two humans, like ourselves, whose people are slaves to us?”
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 48
فَكَذَّبُوهُمَا فَكَانُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلْمُهْلَكِينَ
So they rejected them both, and ˹so˺ were among those destroyed
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 49
وَلَقَدْ ءَاتَيْنَا مُوسَى ٱلْكِتَٰبَ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَهْتَدُونَ
And We certainly gave Moses the Scripture, so perhaps his people would be ˹rightly˺ guided
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 50
وَجَعَلْنَا ٱبْنَ مَرْيَمَ وَأُمَّهُۥٓ ءَايَةً وَءَاوَيْنَٰهُمَآ إِلَىٰ رَبْوَةٍ ذَاتِ قَرَارٍ وَمَعِينٍ
And We made the son of Mary and his mother a sign, and gave them refuge on high ground—a ˹suitable˺ place for rest with flowing water
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 51
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلرُّسُلُ كُلُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلطَّيِّبَٰتِ وَٱعْمَلُوا۟ صَٰلِحًا ۖ إِنِّى بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ عَلِيمٌ
O messengers! Eat from what is good and lawful, and act righteously. Indeed, I fully know what you do
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 52
وَإِنَّ هَٰذِهِۦٓ أُمَّتُكُمْ أُمَّةً وَٰحِدَةً وَأَنَا۠ رَبُّكُمْ فَٱتَّقُونِ
Surely this religion of yours is ˹only˺ one, and I am your Lord, so fear Me ˹alone˺
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 53
فَتَقَطَّعُوٓا۟ أَمْرَهُم بَيْنَهُمْ زُبُرًا ۖ كُلُّ حِزْبٍۭ بِمَا لَدَيْهِمْ فَرِحُونَ
Yet the people have divided it into different sects, each rejoicing in what they have
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 54
فَذَرْهُمْ فِى غَمْرَتِهِمْ حَتَّىٰ حِينٍ
So leave them ˹O Prophet˺ in their heedlessness for a while
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 55
أَيَحْسَبُونَ أَنَّمَا نُمِدُّهُم بِهِۦ مِن مَّالٍ وَبَنِينَ
Do they think, since We provide them with wealth and children
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 56
نُسَارِعُ لَهُمْ فِى ٱلْخَيْرَٰتِ ۚ بَل لَّا يَشْعُرُونَ
that We hasten to ˹honour˺ them ˹with˺ all kinds of good? No! They are not aware
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 57
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ هُم مِّنْ خَشْيَةِ رَبِّهِم مُّشْفِقُونَ
Surely those who tremble in awe of their Lord
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 58
وَٱلَّذِينَ هُم بِـَٔايَٰتِ رَبِّهِمْ يُؤْمِنُونَ
and who believe in the revelations of their Lord
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 59
وَٱلَّذِينَ هُم بِرَبِّهِمْ لَا يُشْرِكُونَ
and who associate none with their Lord
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 60
وَٱلَّذِينَ يُؤْتُونَ مَآ ءَاتَوا۟ وَّقُلُوبُهُمْ وَجِلَةٌ أَنَّهُمْ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ رَٰجِعُونَ
and who do whatever ˹good˺ they do with their hearts fearful, ˹knowing˺ that they will return to their Lord—
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 61
أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ يُسَٰرِعُونَ فِى ٱلْخَيْرَٰتِ وَهُمْ لَهَا سَٰبِقُونَ
it is they who race to do good deeds, always taking the lead
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 62
وَلَا نُكَلِّفُ نَفْسًا إِلَّا وُسْعَهَا ۖ وَلَدَيْنَا كِتَٰبٌ يَنطِقُ بِٱلْحَقِّ ۚ وَهُمْ لَا يُظْلَمُونَ
We never require of any soul more than what it can afford. And with Us is a record which speaks the truth. None will be wronged
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 63
بَلْ قُلُوبُهُمْ فِى غَمْرَةٍ مِّنْ هَٰذَا وَلَهُمْ أَعْمَٰلٌ مِّن دُونِ ذَٰلِكَ هُمْ لَهَا عَٰمِلُونَ
But the hearts of those ˹who disbelieve˺ are oblivious to ˹all of˺ this, and they have other ˹evil˺ deeds, opposite to this, in which they are engrossed
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 64
حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَآ أَخَذْنَا مُتْرَفِيهِم بِٱلْعَذَابِ إِذَا هُمْ يَجْـَٔرُونَ
But as soon as We seize their elite with torment, they start to cry for help
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 65
لَا تَجْـَٔرُوا۟ ٱلْيَوْمَ ۖ إِنَّكُم مِّنَّا لَا تُنصَرُونَ
˹They will be told,˺ “Do not cry for help today. Surely you will never be saved from Us
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 66
قَدْ كَانَتْ ءَايَٰتِى تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْكُمْ فَكُنتُمْ عَلَىٰٓ أَعْقَٰبِكُمْ تَنكِصُونَ
Indeed, My revelations were recited to you, but you used to back away ˹in disgust˺
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 67
مُسْتَكْبِرِينَ بِهِۦ سَٰمِرًا تَهْجُرُونَ
boasting of the Sacred House, and babbling ˹nonsense about the Quran˺ by night.”
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 68
أَفَلَمْ يَدَّبَّرُوا۟ ٱلْقَوْلَ أَمْ جَآءَهُم مَّا لَمْ يَأْتِ ءَابَآءَهُمُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
Is it because they have never contemplated the Word ˹of Allah˺? Or ˹because˺ there has come to them something that did not come to their forefathers
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 69
أَمْ لَمْ يَعْرِفُوا۟ رَسُولَهُمْ فَهُمْ لَهُۥ مُنكِرُونَ
Or ˹because˺ they failed to recognize their Messenger, and so they denied him
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 70
أَمْ يَقُولُونَ بِهِۦ جِنَّةٌۢ ۚ بَلْ جَآءَهُم بِٱلْحَقِّ وَأَكْثَرُهُمْ لِلْحَقِّ كَٰرِهُونَ
Or ˹because˺ they say, “He is insane?” In fact, he has come to them with the truth, but most of them are resentful of the truth
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 71
وَلَوِ ٱتَّبَعَ ٱلْحَقُّ أَهْوَآءَهُمْ لَفَسَدَتِ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتُ وَٱلْأَرْضُ وَمَن فِيهِنَّ ۚ بَلْ أَتَيْنَٰهُم بِذِكْرِهِمْ فَهُمْ عَن ذِكْرِهِم مُّعْرِضُونَ
Had the truth followed their desires, the heavens, the earth, and all those in them would have certainly been corrupted. In fact, We have brought them ˹the means to˺ their glory, but they turn away from it
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 72
أَمْ تَسْـَٔلُهُمْ خَرْجًا فَخَرَاجُ رَبِّكَ خَيْرٌ ۖ وَهُوَ خَيْرُ ٱلرَّٰزِقِينَ
Or ˹is it because˺ you ˹O Prophet˺ are asking them for tribute? But the reward of your Lord is best, for He is the Best Provider
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 73
وَإِنَّكَ لَتَدْعُوهُمْ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ
And surely you are calling them to the Straight Path
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 74
وَإِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ عَنِ ٱلصِّرَٰطِ لَنَٰكِبُونَ
but those who disbelieve in the Hereafter are certainly deviating from that Path
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 75
۞ وَلَوْ رَحِمْنَٰهُمْ وَكَشَفْنَا مَا بِهِم مِّن ضُرٍّ لَّلَجُّوا۟ فِى طُغْيَٰنِهِمْ يَعْمَهُونَ
˹Even˺ if We had mercy on them and removed their affliction, they would still persist in their transgression, wandering blindly
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 76
وَلَقَدْ أَخَذْنَٰهُم بِٱلْعَذَابِ فَمَا ٱسْتَكَانُوا۟ لِرَبِّهِمْ وَمَا يَتَضَرَّعُونَ
And We have already seized them with torment, but they never humbled themselves to their Lord, nor did they ˹submissively˺ appeal ˹to Him˺
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 77
حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا فَتَحْنَا عَلَيْهِم بَابًا ذَا عَذَابٍ شَدِيدٍ إِذَا هُمْ فِيهِ مُبْلِسُونَ
But as soon as We open for them a gate of severe punishment, they will be utterly desperate
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 78
وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَنشَأَ لَكُمُ ٱلسَّمْعَ وَٱلْأَبْصَٰرَ وَٱلْأَفْـِٔدَةَ ۚ قَلِيلًا مَّا تَشْكُرُونَ
He is the One Who created for you hearing, sight, and intellect. ˹Yet˺ you hardly give any thanks
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 79
وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِى ذَرَأَكُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَإِلَيْهِ تُحْشَرُونَ
And He is the One Who has dispersed you ˹all˺ over the earth, and to Him you will ˹all˺ be gathered
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 80
وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِى يُحْىِۦ وَيُمِيتُ وَلَهُ ٱخْتِلَٰفُ ٱلَّيْلِ وَٱلنَّهَارِ ۚ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ
And He is the One Who gives life and causes death, and to Him belongs the alternation of the day and night. Will you not then understand
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 81
بَلْ قَالُوا۟ مِثْلَ مَا قَالَ ٱلْأَوَّلُونَ
But they ˹just˺ say what their predecessors said
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 82
قَالُوٓا۟ أَءِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًا وَعِظَٰمًا أَءِنَّا لَمَبْعُوثُونَ
They said, “Once we are dead and reduced to dust and bones, will we really be resurrected
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 83
لَقَدْ وُعِدْنَا نَحْنُ وَءَابَآؤُنَا هَٰذَا مِن قَبْلُ إِنْ هَٰذَآ إِلَّآ أَسَٰطِيرُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
We have already been promised this, as well as our forefathers earlier. This is nothing but ancient fables!”
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 84
قُل لِّمَنِ ٱلْأَرْضُ وَمَن فِيهَآ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ
Ask ˹them, O Prophet˺, “To whom belong the earth and all those on it, if you ˹really˺ know?”
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 85
سَيَقُولُونَ لِلَّهِ ۚ قُلْ أَفَلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ
They will reply, “To Allah!” Say, “Why are you not then mindful?”
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 86
قُلْ مَن رَّبُّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ ٱلسَّبْعِ وَرَبُّ ٱلْعَرْشِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ
˹And˺ ask ˹them˺, “Who is the Lord of the seven heavens and the Lord of the Mighty Throne?”
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 87
سَيَقُولُونَ لِلَّهِ ۚ قُلْ أَفَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
They will reply, “Allah.” Say, “Will you not then fear ˹Him˺?”
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 88
قُلْ مَنۢ بِيَدِهِۦ مَلَكُوتُ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ وَهُوَ يُجِيرُ وَلَا يُجَارُ عَلَيْهِ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ
Ask ˹them also,˺ “In Whose Hands is the authority over all things, protecting ˹all˺ while none can protect against Him, if you ˹really˺ know?”
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 89
سَيَقُولُونَ لِلَّهِ ۚ قُلْ فَأَنَّىٰ تُسْحَرُونَ
They will reply, “Allah.” Say, “How are you then so deluded?”
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 90
بَلْ أَتَيْنَٰهُم بِٱلْحَقِّ وَإِنَّهُمْ لَكَٰذِبُونَ
In fact, We have brought them the truth, and they are certainly liars
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 91
مَا ٱتَّخَذَ ٱللَّهُ مِن وَلَدٍ وَمَا كَانَ مَعَهُۥ مِنْ إِلَٰهٍ ۚ إِذًا لَّذَهَبَ كُلُّ إِلَٰهٍۭ بِمَا خَلَقَ وَلَعَلَا بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ ۚ سُبْحَٰنَ ٱللَّهِ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَ
Allah has never had ˹any˺ offspring, nor is there any god besides Him. Otherwise, each god would have taken away what he created, and they would have tried to dominate one another. Glorified is Allah above what they claim
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 92
عَٰلِمِ ٱلْغَيْبِ وَٱلشَّهَٰدَةِ فَتَعَٰلَىٰ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ
˹He is the˺ Knower of the seen and unseen. Exalted is He above what they associate ˹with Him˺
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 93
قُل رَّبِّ إِمَّا تُرِيَنِّى مَا يُوعَدُونَ
Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “My Lord! Should You show me what they are threatened with
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 94
رَبِّ فَلَا تَجْعَلْنِى فِى ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
then, my Lord, do not count me among the wrongdoing people.”
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 95
وَإِنَّا عَلَىٰٓ أَن نُّرِيَكَ مَا نَعِدُهُمْ لَقَٰدِرُونَ
We are indeed able to show you what We have threatened them with
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 96
ٱدْفَعْ بِٱلَّتِى هِىَ أَحْسَنُ ٱلسَّيِّئَةَ ۚ نَحْنُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يَصِفُونَ
Respond to evil with what is best. We know well what they claim
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 97
وَقُل رَّبِّ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ هَمَزَٰتِ ٱلشَّيَٰطِينِ
And say, “My Lord! I seek refuge in You from the temptations of the devils
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 98
وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ رَبِّ أَن يَحْضُرُونِ
And I seek refuge in You, my Lord, that they ˹even˺ come near me.”
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 99
حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا جَآءَ أَحَدَهُمُ ٱلْمَوْتُ قَالَ رَبِّ ٱرْجِعُونِ
When death approaches any of them, they cry, “My Lord! Let me go back
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 100
لَعَلِّىٓ أَعْمَلُ صَٰلِحًا فِيمَا تَرَكْتُ ۚ كَلَّآ ۚ إِنَّهَا كَلِمَةٌ هُوَ قَآئِلُهَا ۖ وَمِن وَرَآئِهِم بَرْزَخٌ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَ
so I may do good in what I left behind.” Never! It is only a ˹useless˺ appeal they make. And there is a barrier behind them until the Day they are resurrected
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 101
فَإِذَا نُفِخَ فِى ٱلصُّورِ فَلَآ أَنسَابَ بَيْنَهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ وَلَا يَتَسَآءَلُونَ
Then, when the Trumpet will be blown, there will be no kinship between them on that Day, nor will they ˹even care to˺ ask about one another

فَمَن ثَقُلَتْ مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْمُفْلِحُونَ
As for those whose scale is heavy ˹with good deeds˺, it is they who will be successful
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 103
وَمَنْ خَفَّتْ مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ خَسِرُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ فِى جَهَنَّمَ خَٰلِدُونَ
But those whose scale is light, they will have doomed themselves, staying in Hell forever
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 104
تَلْفَحُ وُجُوهَهُمُ ٱلنَّارُ وَهُمْ فِيهَا كَٰلِحُونَ
The Fire will burn their faces, leaving them deformed
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 105
أَلَمْ تَكُنْ ءَايَٰتِى تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْكُمْ فَكُنتُم بِهَا تُكَذِّبُونَ
˹It will be said,˺ “Were My revelations not recited to you, but you used to deny them?”
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 106
قَالُوا۟ رَبَّنَا غَلَبَتْ عَلَيْنَا شِقْوَتُنَا وَكُنَّا قَوْمًا ضَآلِّينَ
They will cry, “Our Lord! Our ill-fate took hold of us, so we became a misguided people
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 107
رَبَّنَآ أَخْرِجْنَا مِنْهَا فَإِنْ عُدْنَا فَإِنَّا ظَٰلِمُونَ
Our Lord! Take us out of this ˹Fire˺. Then if we ever return ˹to denial˺, we will truly be wrongdoers.”
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 108
قَالَ ٱخْسَـُٔوا۟ فِيهَا وَلَا تُكَلِّمُونِ
Allah will respond, “Be despised in there! Do not ˹ever˺ plead with Me ˹again˺
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 109
إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ فَرِيقٌ مِّنْ عِبَادِى يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَآ ءَامَنَّا فَٱغْفِرْ لَنَا وَٱرْحَمْنَا وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ ٱلرَّٰحِمِينَ
Indeed, there was a group of My servants who used to pray, ‘Our Lord! We have believed, so forgive us and have mercy on us, for You are the best of those who show mercy,’
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 110
فَٱتَّخَذْتُمُوهُمْ سِخْرِيًّا حَتَّىٰٓ أَنسَوْكُمْ ذِكْرِى وَكُنتُم مِّنْهُمْ تَضْحَكُونَ
but you were ˹so busy˺ making fun of them that it made you forget My remembrance. And you used to laugh at them
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 111
إِنِّى جَزَيْتُهُمُ ٱلْيَوْمَ بِمَا صَبَرُوٓا۟ أَنَّهُمْ هُمُ ٱلْفَآئِزُونَ
Today I have indeed rewarded them for their perseverance: they are certainly the triumphant.”
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 112
قَٰلَ كَمْ لَبِثْتُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ عَدَدَ سِنِينَ
He will ask ˹them˺, “How many years did you remain on earth?”
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 113
قَالُوا۟ لَبِثْنَا يَوْمًا أَوْ بَعْضَ يَوْمٍ فَسْـَٔلِ ٱلْعَآدِّينَ
They will reply, “We remained ˹only˺ a day or part of a day. But ask those who kept count.”
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 114
قَٰلَ إِن لَّبِثْتُمْ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا ۖ لَّوْ أَنَّكُمْ كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ
He will say, “You only remained for a little while, if only you knew
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 115
أَفَحَسِبْتُمْ أَنَّمَا خَلَقْنَٰكُمْ عَبَثًا وَأَنَّكُمْ إِلَيْنَا لَا تُرْجَعُونَ
Did you then think that We had created you without purpose, and that you would never be returned to Us?”
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 116
فَتَعَٰلَى ٱللَّهُ ٱلْمَلِكُ ٱلْحَقُّ ۖ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ رَبُّ ٱلْعَرْشِ ٱلْكَرِيمِ
Exalted is Allah, the True King! There is no god ˹worthy of worship˺ except Him, the Lord of the Honourable Throne
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 117
وَمَن يَدْعُ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَٰهًا ءَاخَرَ لَا بُرْهَٰنَ لَهُۥ بِهِۦ فَإِنَّمَا حِسَابُهُۥ عِندَ رَبِّهِۦٓ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ لَا يُفْلِحُ ٱلْكَٰفِرُونَ
Whoever invokes, besides Allah, another god—for which they can have no proof—they will surely find their penalty with their Lord. Indeed, the disbelievers will never succeed
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 118
وَقُل رَّبِّ ٱغْفِرْ وَٱرْحَمْ وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ ٱلرَّٰحِمِينَ
Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “My Lord! Forgive and have mercy, for You are the best of those who show mercy.”
