بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ وَٱلطُّورِ
By Mount Ṭûr
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 2
وَكِتَٰبٍ مَّسْطُورٍ
And by the Book written
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 3
فِى رَقٍّ مَّنشُورٍ
on open pages ˹for all to read˺
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 4
وَٱلْبَيْتِ ٱلْمَعْمُورِ
And by the ˹Sacred˺ House frequently visited
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 5
وَٱلسَّقْفِ ٱلْمَرْفُوعِ
And by the canopy raised ˹high˺
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 6
وَٱلْبَحْرِ ٱلْمَسْجُورِ
And by the seas set on fire
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 7
إِنَّ عَذَابَ رَبِّكَ لَوَٰقِعٌ
Indeed, the punishment of your Lord will come to pass—

مَّا لَهُۥ مِن دَافِعٍ
none will avert it—
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 9
يَوْمَ تَمُورُ ٱلسَّمَآءُ مَوْرًا
on the Day the heavens will be shaken violently
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 10
وَتَسِيرُ ٱلْجِبَالُ سَيْرًا
and the mountains will be blown away entirely

فَوَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ
Then woe on that Day to the deniers—
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 12
ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ فِى خَوْضٍ يَلْعَبُونَ
those who amuse themselves with falsehood
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 13
يَوْمَ يُدَعُّونَ إِلَىٰ نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ دَعًّا
˹It is˺ the Day they will be fiercely shoved into the Fire of Hell
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 14
هَٰذِهِ ٱلنَّارُ ٱلَّتِى كُنتُم بِهَا تُكَذِّبُونَ
˹They will be told,˺ “This is the Fire which you used to deny
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 15
أَفَسِحْرٌ هَٰذَآ أَمْ أَنتُمْ لَا تُبْصِرُونَ
Is this magic, or do you not see
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 16
ٱصْلَوْهَا فَٱصْبِرُوٓا۟ أَوْ لَا تَصْبِرُوا۟ سَوَآءٌ عَلَيْكُمْ ۖ إِنَّمَا تُجْزَوْنَ مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ
Burn in it! It is the same whether you endure ˹it˺ patiently or not. You are only rewarded for what you used to do.”

إِنَّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ فِى جَنَّٰتٍ وَنَعِيمٍ
Indeed, the righteous will be in Gardens and bliss
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 18
فَٰكِهِينَ بِمَآ ءَاتَىٰهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ وَوَقَىٰهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ عَذَابَ ٱلْجَحِيمِ
enjoying whatever their Lord will have granted them. And their Lord will have protected them from the torment of the Hellfire

كُلُوا۟ وَٱشْرَبُوا۟ هَنِيٓـًٔۢا بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ
˹They will be told,˺ “Eat and drink happily for what you used to do.”

مُتَّكِـِٔينَ عَلَىٰ سُرُرٍ مَّصْفُوفَةٍ ۖ وَزَوَّجْنَٰهُم بِحُورٍ عِينٍ
They will be reclining on thrones, ˹neatly˺ lined up ˹facing each other˺. And We will pair them to maidens with gorgeous eyes

وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَٱتَّبَعَتْهُمْ ذُرِّيَّتُهُم بِإِيمَٰنٍ أَلْحَقْنَا بِهِمْ ذُرِّيَّتَهُمْ وَمَآ أَلَتْنَٰهُم مِّنْ عَمَلِهِم مِّن شَىْءٍ ۚ كُلُّ ٱمْرِئٍۭ بِمَا كَسَبَ رَهِينٌ
As for those who believe and whose descendants follow them in faith, We will elevate their descendants to their rank, never discounting anything ˹of the reward˺ of their deeds. Every person will reap only what they sowed
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 22
وَأَمْدَدْنَٰهُم بِفَٰكِهَةٍ وَلَحْمٍ مِّمَّا يَشْتَهُونَ
And We will ˹continually˺ provide them with whatever fruit or meat they desire
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 23
يَتَنَٰزَعُونَ فِيهَا كَأْسًا لَّا لَغْوٌ فِيهَا وَلَا تَأْثِيمٌ
They will pass around to each other a drink ˹of pure wine,˺ which leads to no idle talk or sinfulness
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 24
۞ وَيَطُوفُ عَلَيْهِمْ غِلْمَانٌ لَّهُمْ كَأَنَّهُمْ لُؤْلُؤٌ مَّكْنُونٌ
And they will be waited on by their youthful servants like spotless pearls
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 25
وَأَقْبَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ يَتَسَآءَلُونَ
They will turn to one another inquisitively
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 26
قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّا كُنَّا قَبْلُ فِىٓ أَهْلِنَا مُشْفِقِينَ
They will say, “Before ˹this reward˺ we used to be in awe ˹of Allah˺ in the midst of our people
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 27
فَمَنَّ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْنَا وَوَقَىٰنَا عَذَابَ ٱلسَّمُومِ
So Allah has graced us and protected us from the torment of ˹Hell’s˺ scorching heat
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 28
إِنَّا كُنَّا مِن قَبْلُ نَدْعُوهُ ۖ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلْبَرُّ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
Indeed, we used to call upon Him ˹alone˺ before. He is truly the Most Kind, Most Merciful.”

فَذَكِّرْ فَمَآ أَنتَ بِنِعْمَتِ رَبِّكَ بِكَاهِنٍ وَلَا مَجْنُونٍ
So ˹continue to˺ remind ˹all, O Prophet˺. For you, by the grace of your Lord, are not a fortune-teller or a madman

أَمْ يَقُولُونَ شَاعِرٌ نَّتَرَبَّصُ بِهِۦ رَيْبَ ٱلْمَنُونِ
Or do they say, “˹He is˺ a poet, for whom we ˹eagerly˺ await an ill-fate!”

قُلْ تَرَبَّصُوا۟ فَإِنِّى مَعَكُم مِّنَ ٱلْمُتَرَبِّصِينَ
Say, “Keep waiting! I too am waiting with you.”

أَمْ تَأْمُرُهُمْ أَحْلَٰمُهُم بِهَٰذَآ ۚ أَمْ هُمْ قَوْمٌ طَاغُونَ
Or do their ˹intelligent˺ minds prompt them to this ˹paradox˺? Or are they ˹just˺ a transgressing people

أَمْ يَقُولُونَ تَقَوَّلَهُۥ ۚ بَل لَّا يُؤْمِنُونَ
Or do they say, “He made this ˹Quran˺ up!”? In fact, they have no faith

فَلْيَأْتُوا۟ بِحَدِيثٍ مِّثْلِهِۦٓ إِن كَانُوا۟ صَٰدِقِينَ
Let them then produce something like it, if what they say is true
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 35
أَمْ خُلِقُوا۟ مِنْ غَيْرِ شَىْءٍ أَمْ هُمُ ٱلْخَٰلِقُونَ
Or were they created by nothing, or are they ˹their own˺ creators
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 36
أَمْ خَلَقُوا۟ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ ۚ بَل لَّا يُوقِنُونَ
Or did they create the heavens and the earth? In fact, they have no firm belief ˹in Allah˺

أَمْ عِندَهُمْ خَزَآئِنُ رَبِّكَ أَمْ هُمُ ٱلْمُصَۣيْطِرُونَ
Or do they possess the treasuries of your Lord, or are they in control ˹of everything˺
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 38
أَمْ لَهُمْ سُلَّمٌ يَسْتَمِعُونَ فِيهِ ۖ فَلْيَأْتِ مُسْتَمِعُهُم بِسُلْطَٰنٍ مُّبِينٍ
Or do they have a stairway, by which they eavesdrop ˹on the heavens˺? Then let those who do so bring a compelling proof

أَمْ لَهُ ٱلْبَنَٰتُ وَلَكُمُ ٱلْبَنُونَ
Or does He have daughters ˹as you claim˺, while you ˹prefer to˺ have sons
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 40
أَمْ تَسْـَٔلُهُمْ أَجْرًا فَهُم مِّن مَّغْرَمٍ مُّثْقَلُونَ
Or are you ˹O Prophet˺ asking them for a reward ˹for the message˺ so that they are overburdened by debt
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 41
أَمْ عِندَهُمُ ٱلْغَيْبُ فَهُمْ يَكْتُبُونَ
Or do they have access to ˹the Record in˺ the unseen, so they copy it ˹for all to see˺
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 42
أَمْ يُرِيدُونَ كَيْدًا ۖ فَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ هُمُ ٱلْمَكِيدُونَ
Or do they intend to scheme ˹against the Prophet˺? Then it is the disbelievers who will fall victim to ˹their˺ schemes
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 43
أَمْ لَهُمْ إِلَٰهٌ غَيْرُ ٱللَّهِ ۚ سُبْحَٰنَ ٱللَّهِ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ
Or do they have a god other than Allah? Glorified is Allah far above what they associate ˹with Him˺
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 44
وَإِن يَرَوْا۟ كِسْفًا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ سَاقِطًا يَقُولُوا۟ سَحَابٌ مَّرْكُومٌ
If they were to see a ˹deadly˺ piece of the sky fall down ˹upon them˺, still they would say, “˹This is just˺ a pile of clouds.”
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 45
فَذَرْهُمْ حَتَّىٰ يُلَٰقُوا۟ يَوْمَهُمُ ٱلَّذِى فِيهِ يُصْعَقُونَ
So leave them until they face their Day in which they will be struck dead—
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 46
يَوْمَ لَا يُغْنِى عَنْهُمْ كَيْدُهُمْ شَيْـًٔا وَلَا هُمْ يُنصَرُونَ
the Day their scheming will be of no benefit to them whatsoever, nor will they be helped
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 47
وَإِنَّ لِلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ عَذَابًا دُونَ ذَٰلِكَ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ
Also, the wrongdoers will certainly have another torment before that ˹Day˺, but most of them do not know
Open on MyQuran.ioAyah 48
وَٱصْبِرْ لِحُكْمِ رَبِّكَ فَإِنَّكَ بِأَعْيُنِنَا ۖ وَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ حِينَ تَقُومُ
So be patient with your Lord’s decree, for you are truly under Our ˹watchful˺ Eyes. And glorify the praises of your Lord when you rise

وَمِنَ ٱلَّيْلِ فَسَبِّحْهُ وَإِدْبَٰرَ ٱلنُّجُومِ
And glorify Him during part of the night and at the fading of the stars
